The Board of Directors on July 15, 2010 approved a new program for the development of Regional Group Chapters (RGC's). This announcement is two fold. First, to encourage the IACP membership to comment and provide constructive input on the development of this program. And second, to request volunteers who are willing to actively participate in the creation of an RGC prototype as a model for the IACP. This effort will be administered by a (to be appointed) new Officer position titled, Vice President Regional Groups who will directly report to the IACP President. Due to the diverse nature of the IACP we are looking to select a total of nine volunteers representing geographic locations with the largest number of IACP members.
This program envisions a locally focused IACP to enhance business communications, promote and support local events, expand educational opportunities, market IACP products and services and encourage canine professional representation. The committee will be established under the guidelines contained in the IACP Committee Standards Policy. It is anticipated this program may require up to two years to complete. Your input is encouraged and will be accepted until September 30, 2010. All comments will be summarized and submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration. This program will be revised as necessary to ensure its success.
