WORKING K9s

The International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) is pleased to announce the formation of a new section geared specifically toward the Working Dog community. Law Enforcement, Military, Federal, Search and Rescue, and Sport K9 handlers, trainers, administrators and decoys are encouraged to become a part of the IACP and experience all of the benefits this extraordinary Association has to offer. The IACP is proud to “represent voices from all different working philosophies and walks of life. We strive to maintain professionalism, integrity and the highest standards among members within the canine industry.”

The Working Dog section will provide networking opportunities to its members as well as invaluable expertise in every aspect of the Working Dog community. You can count on suggestions without politics, advice without criticism, mentorship without self-inflation, and camaraderie that isn’t defined by geographical or departmental boundaries.

We will strive to bring more truthful awareness to the public at large regarding all working dogs, and we will push each other to set and attain higher standards and establish unbeatable working relationships with our dogs, our departments, and our communities.
Within the broader scope of the Association, you will also be able to rely on truthful and innovative professionals in the fields of Veterinary Medicine, Grooming, Training, Kenneling, and more. IACP members pride themselves in assisting each other through the SafeHands email group, which gives members the opportunity to ask questions on their own time and reap the knowledge from hundreds of other canine professionals. The annual IACP conference is an event where a chance to learn and to teach is never missed, a long weekend of making new friends and catching up with old ones.

MISSION
The mission of the IACP Working K9 Dog Section is to encourage the liberal exchange of information between K9 Handlers, Trainers and Administrators to enhance the overall knowledge, effectiveness and safety of those involved in the deployment, training and administration of Working K9 Teams. We are looking to minimize the existing boundaries between various agencies and disciplines within the Working Dog community.

Those involved in Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies, as well as those that support these entities, are encouraged to participate in the furthering of knowledge as facilitated by the International Association of Canine Professionals. Individuals and clubs that are active in SAR and the various K9 sport disciplines are also encouraged to share their experience, as we are striving to bring out the best, to create the best.
